I can't just move there, because of the cats and Ben's job and our mortgage, and finding a job in Germany is terrifying (they have very different application procedures, apparently). Blah.
If it feels like home, then it feels like home. I was thinking about this post this morning as I walked out by the frozen pond near my house. I spent the first 29 years of my life feeling out of place, and then I came here, and I am still continually surprised and delighted that it really does feel like home.
My practical nature keeps me from doing something incredibly stupid. That, and I'd probably never see most of my friends or family again -_- (What would I do with my house? And my cats? And Ben? And how would we both find work, let alone get work visas? And it would only make getting to conventions 1000x more annoying & expensive, and ... *sigh*)
Clearly you need to be the next JK Rowling, and then you will be able to afford all the travel and visitor-hosting and so forth. This plan cannot fail amirite?
