How can I be homesick for a city I visited twice and lived in for a month?

Home is where the heart is, not where the body lies.

Sometimes I pine for a city I've been to once for like 13 hours. Yours seems much more reasonable, to me.

If it feels like home, then it feels like home. I was thinking about this post this morning as I walked out by the frozen pond near my house. I spent the first 29 years of my life feeling out of place, and then I came here, and I am still continually surprised and delighted that it really does feel like home.

Clearly you need to be the next JK Rowling, and then you will be able to afford all the travel and visitor-hosting and so forth. This plan cannot fail amirite?
