My writing group liked the Thanksgiving scene and thought I set up the local color very well. The German guy's reaction to green bean casserole got laughs. (green beans + cream of mushroom soup + those little fried onion things from a can -> oven. It's SO 1950s traditional, and I haven't eaten it in years because Ben hates green beans.)

(Also fun: the ridiculous wind gusts and strong sustained winds, and the tornado warning that just ended and watch that goes until 9 pm.)

Apparently Tuesdays are no-writing days, because I have writing group. But I get feedback on earlier scenes, and yesterday I got a few ideas for filling in the jump between mid-November and almost-Christmas, where I had nothing going on. So yay.

That isn't very reassuring, is it?

I decided to change a plot point back to the original one, which means spending a little time with the outline again. But it shouldn't change too much, since I was contemplating cutting that thread out anyway.

I'm plotting a superhero spy novel. Should I use villain-perspective scenes or not? Would it add to or decrease the suspense?

There's one thing that I think would heighten the suspense for the reader, because it shows they're barking up the wrong tree and also [spoiler], but villain-perspective scenes can mess things up if done badly.

Your thoughts?
