Jim Hines has some commentary on the stupid, victim-blaming, harasser-supporting crap being spewed by certain factions of the con-going (and con-running) community.
I still really need to read his actual books. I caught part of the book-cover panel that he was on at the con and it was brilliant - he demonstrated some poses in person and had a lot of good things to say about why he started talking about cover poses in the first place.
Yeah, I was just about to go append a link to his post to the ongoing discussion on my LJ. I'm always impressed by what he has to say and how he says it, and I hope to be able to tell him so in person some day (hopefully in a non-creepy manner).
He's a really approachable guy, and he's always seemed delighted to talk to fans when Kim and I have interacted with him. (Apparently we've successfully avoided being creepy.)
I got to see him pull off some ridiculous poses during a panel at WorldCon, and later managed to congratulate him briefly in the foyer after his Hugo win. He does indeed seem like a pretty great guy in person.
