Hikaru's the reason I started drinking scotch. She does, and I want to have enough knowledge to talk about it if I have to. (Which I haven't yet. But it could be relevant, maybe, later.)

Oooh what scotches are you into? I like it, but still don't have any "go to" one...

I've started doing (or trying) certain things because of characters too. Writing Trajan, for example, makes me constantly crave soup noodle. I do want to try handmaking noodles to better round out my knowledge there.

Actually I think I got curious about scotch thanks to Life on Mars...

I only have one bottle, a present from Ben's brother: some Glen Elgin. (He bought it in Dubai.) It's pretty nice, actually, a spicy Speyside. I know I don't like peat; it tastes like drinking nails.

Aren't characters fun that way? I never thought writing would lead me to expensive hobbies!

Mmm. The last bottle I had was a Glenlivet... 12 year? not that old anyway. It was really tasty. I really want to do a scotch tasting, so I can really compare and learn all the flavors...
