So today, the ringing in my ears, which I'd thought a biweekly bolus of caffeine was keeping at bay, decided to come back. I don't know if any of you are afflicted with this, but it's really hard to concentrate when there's this high-pitched whine inside your ears.

I managed to get some editing in, though. +167 to 76,906.

I found a comment I'd left on the next scene I'm doing, and it asks if I included what I'm referring to in this draft. I didn't. I guess I should consider putting it back in, eh? There's a few hundred more words for you! To go back and do it now, or to soldier on? I think I'll do it now. Well, tomorrow, or maybe tonight after tai chi, if I'm feeling ambitious.

In the meantime, imagine there's a constant 9000 Hz playing in your ears. That's my life. Thanks, migraines!

I've had high-pitched ringing in my ears of multiple frequencies since I was a teenager. I remember writing a diary entry about it once, "once upon a time there was no ringing in my ears" but I don't remember life without ringing in my ears. Occasionally it gets suddenly and surprisingly worse, in an imbalanced sort of way, making it nearly impossible to hear anything. Usually that is gone by morning.

Yes, it's annoying. I've learned to just live with it. I heard a product advertised on the radio called "quietus" advertised, but it's one of those things that sounds too good to be true and I haven't bothered researching it.

This started after The Nausea last summer. Or during. Something like that. It was tolerable for a good week, but it came back today.

If it's really loud, I literally can't focus on anything. I've lost days of writing to this.

Yeah, I've had ringing in my ears off and on at various pitches for as long as I can remember. When someone first told me about tinnitis, I realized that was it. It's never lasted for long at a span, and while strange, it has never bothered me over much. Sorry yours appears to be worse. =/

I have a very very low level ringing, such that if I focus on something else, I don't notice it. I'm taking a daily aspirin for my heart, and I understand that may be the case in my case. I'm sorry it's so awful for you. :/

I lived on Advil for quite some time, and when I was sick last year, I had headaches (yay, migraines), and I took a lot of Advil then. Some of it could well be NSAID-related ototoxicity. I did take an Advil, hm, yesterday I think. Man, if taking my preferred analgesic makes my ears ring, I'm going to be quite put out...
