I sort of worked on 3 scenes today. They were all scenes I'd scrapped and decided to rewrite from scratch after the first re-read, but I decided they weren't so bad after all and opted to clean them up for continuity instead. So now I'm back up to 72890 words. There's still a lot of line-editing stuff to do, and a lot of description to add in, and character arcs to flesh out, PLUS the remaining ca 50% of the novel. So 100k words shouldn't be too hard to reach. (Then when I finish it, I should send it around for beta, and while it's out work on the synopsis, then revise again & work on queries.)

Excerpt.
She walked up to the bar. Grünewald took a seat between herself and Schwartz, and Winter sat on her right. She read the tap handles. None of the beers interested her. “What else do you have?”

The bartender replied, “Whiskey, brandy, and vodka, all made on station. We also have several varieties of scotch imported from Earth.”

Schwartz whistled. “Sell much of that scotch? I bet it’s got quite a price tag.”

The bartender laughed. “We have some connoisseurs who are willing to pay the price, but otherwise, no, we don’t sell much of it. Would you like some, sir?”

It was Schwartz’ turn to laugh. “I can’t afford that. I’ll have a beer, please.”
