I went back and fleshed out 5.3 today, and I think it's finished. For now, at least. Tomorrow I'm going back to chapter 6, which means I have to figure out what's going to happen there. I have a skeleton of a scene, a blank scene, and one that needs to be heavily rewritten. I'm not really looking forward to it.
If I want to get this draft revised by the new year, I'm going to need to do, uh, 5 chapters a week. Either I'm going to have to learn to focus, or I'm going to have to bump out to mid-January and do only 3 chapters a week.
I'm so screwed. But having this deadline hanging over my head may get me to be more productive. I like having a due date, rather than a vague "sometime in the near future" type of thing.
I need to update Scrivener, because I keep getting this pop-up asking me to update it. It's $25, so I keep putting it off. I ought to just bite the bullet and do it. I hear 2.0 has some really awesome features, and I want to check it out.
Speaking of things I'm checking out, I just signed up for DropBox. If you sign up with my referral code, we both get an extra 250 MB of free storage (up to 8 GB). Shiny, eh? I like it so far, though .scriv files have a bunch of metadata that means you can't sync it. But I can still choose "back up as .zip" and save it to my dropbox. And it's easier than emailing myself the .zip file.
Anyway, Ben's home now, so I'm going to go be social.
