Thursday and Friday last week, I couldn't concentrate on writing anything. I couldn't figure out plot, or what was happening, or why things were happening. I think it was a bit of migraine fog. I don't look forward to completely unproductive days on a regular basis, if that's the case. I started a couple scenes, but I didn't get very far.
Today, on the other hand, I rewrote two scenes in chapter 5. Neither of them has reached my somewhat arbitrary 1000 words, but they're better than the first draft, and I've added 1100 words today. Tomorrow, in between running errands and planning Thanksgiving cooking, I'll go back over them and polish them up a bit, maybe pad out the first scene a bit more, then finish the second. If I'm lucky, I'll get to start on the third before my marathon of cooking on Wednesday and Thursday followed by two days of family obligations.
I'm going to have to be On The Ball in December if I want to get this thing rewritten so I can apply to VP in January. Right now, my "due date" is 1/15; I may go to the end of the month. Definitely January, though. If I keep lazing about, it'll never get done.
