No antibiotics right now. I'm to continue the neti pot once a day, use saline nasal spray 4 times a day, Mucinex twice a day, and drink lots of fluids. If I don't improve by Friday, or if I get worse, I call them back.

I'd rather avoid taking antibiotics if I don't need them, really, and I'm hoping this hydration and flushing protocol takes care of it. For good, this time.

I guess I'll run up to Kerr and pick up some saline and Mucinex. And possibly some little packets for the neti pot, but using my own table salt may be cheaper, if less convenient.

My memory of our neti pot is that the included packet thingies were actually a mixture of table salt and baking soda, but I'd want to verify that before you stuck it up your nose. As I recall, I was able to figure out the precise ratio of ingredients I'd need pretty easily from the information on the packets' labels.

Good luck finally licking this thing!

When Dr. Annis first suggested neti-ing to me, she said the optional baking soda was because some people get a stinging feeling from just salt water, even when it's mixed at the proper ratio. I added it the first time or two, but when I was lazy and just did salt water, I didn't notice a difference.
