So, thanks to an announcement/call on the Broad Universe mailing list, I'm going to be reading "U8: Alexanderplatz (1989)" at NASFiC in Raleigh. (Fitting, really, because it's due to a call for submissions on the BU list that I sold U8 in the first place.)

One of the guys from the con sent me email and asked if there were any other potential panels I'd be interested in being on, so I went through the list and looked for things I wouldn't be talking out of my ass on. Found a couple and marked them down.

GUISE. Imma be a participant at a con. With, like, my name in the book and shit.

We're going to be volunteer coordinators there (as we have this horrible addiction to being staff members at conventions in the Raleigh Convention Center), so I guess we're all in the club of "Not paying a hundred bucks for this" now.

We've got a 1 bedroom apartment with an old couch. You're free to use said old couch, of course, but you might have to fight Appa for it.



You may need to bribe him for pillows. He collects them.

I've got a queen/full air mattress I can bring, if there's enough floor space for it. Either way, it'll likely beat driving 45 minutes each way for 4 days.

Comfy status of couch is debatable. I'd say bring the mattress as a fallback and only use it if you want to. We can create floor space as needed.

Depending on our schedule, we might be able to save on parking costs and only bring one car.

We're most likely going to be there beginning to end. They've told us jack about our responsibilities as volunteer coordinators but if it's anything like Animazement we probably get there when it opens and leave when it closes.
