I made negative words today. I cut 5k, so I'm down to 13,000, and I'm going to end up cutting more. Still working on making a believable military system for the mercenaries, and I'm reading about the USMC. I hope to have the flow chart and squad composition nailed down by the end of the week, but the person I'm working with has, you know, a job and a life and such.
I can't write more until I know better the composition of the team that's going in. I mean, sure, 3 fire teams and a squad leader (captain, usually, according to wikipedia), but who's in the fire teams? Does special ops use the same makeup as a normal marine fire team? How will this change by being 500 years in the future, in a Germany-based company? I don't know enough about the military to hazard a guess without having a better source than wikipedia.
Now to brave the rain to head to Chapel Hill.
