I caught the 'rona.
I started feeling slightly off on Thursday, did a self test. It was negative, so I dosed up on allergy meds.
Thursday night, I had fever and chills, barely slept, and decided I was definitely sick.
Friday morning I had a faint positive line on my self test and started isolating. I also notified everyone I'd seen since Wednesday.
How it's going: I feel like I have a bad cold. Cough, stuffy nose, some aches and pains, still sometimes fever or chills. I don't have a thermometer, so I can't be precise, just "I'm sweating to death under a shawl" or "I'm freezing." I have no voice, really.
I ordered groceries - yogurt, cottage cheese, applesauce, water, tea - and Rajka has to go to Rossmann today anyway, so she said she'd look for an electric kettle (my idea, so I don't have to go to the kitchen to make tea.) I'm going to ask her if she's willing to pick up cold meds at a pharmacy while she's out.
I have more energy today, but that could be from actually sleeping last night. I'm not going to overdo things! I definitely A+ recommend making a corner nest so you can sleep semi-upright. I always have worse coughing and snot when I lay flat.
And naturally, today is supposed to be insanely hot (by Northern European standards) - 92. Remember that most N. Europeans don't have air con, and that Germans, for some reason*, are allergic to a) blocking out the sun to reduce solar heat gain and b) fans or any sort of moving air. With these hot days getting more frequent (thanks, climate change), they're gonna have to get over that tout suite.
*the old wives' tale that drafts or moving air make you sick is still beloved here. Not sure what they have against blocking out the sun, though.

*apparently this is a word in English, which I just guessed from German Jalousien, because spellcheck isn't complaining.
