Sports: I don't have much interest in Football, but I love Germany, thoughts of goings on over there are always interesting to me because I don't seek out German news from any other source.
Illness: I don't mind reading about illness updates, and I find it fascinating watching all the comments of "well, could it be this?" Early in life we get this feeling like doctors know everything, and it's only later that we realize that there are many cases where they are just stumped and it's very annoying to be in a position where nothing they can do helps. I wish I could say something that would help, but all I can really do is offer my sympathies. I do want to know about the journey there, and how it turns out in the end.
Writing: The process that authors go through to make a novel is interesting to me, but I never comment because I don't have anything useful to say. "Good luck!" and "Go You!" seem to get old after a while.
Politics: I think we both realize we're at polar opposites of the political spectrum, and written debate has been painful. I find your opinions interesting just to see how the other side thinks, but I don't waste your time or mine on responses that usually both get nowhere and fail to clarify either person's thinking to the other. Frequently you post interesting links. Unless I'm in crunch time I read them, but usually don't comment.
