I'm still working out the organization of the mercenaries, though I'm at a point where I'm waiting for my acquaintance to get back to me with a diagram. (He said he'd draw one up for me, which is pretty rad.) I put a revised squad composition list in email this morning, so I'm just waiting for him to get back.

I've worked out some physics things, though nothing very specific yet, mostly relating to warp drives. Which, being completely theoretical, I have a fair bit of leeway with. But I also have no physics-fu, so it's all asking questions of smart people and handwavium.

I started an entire Scrivener project for the worldbuilding, all under the 'research' label. I *think* you can link between projects, but I haven't tried it yet. If so, that's pretty awesome. (I like the custom labels. I have one for political organization, location, people, company, tech, etc. Scrivener is awesome for organization junkies.)

Also, thanks to the guy helping me out with the mercenaries, Hikaru got a rename. She's now Hikaru Yılmaz. The 4-syllable last name with funky characters was throwing him, and he's right, in that this is a fairly military-heavy book, and she'd be referred to by her last name frequently. It's a lot of letters, though no more than my last name (9). So I found a new one. Even with the dotless i, it's more pronounceable than Çetinoğlu.

There are some things I'm going to have great fun with. I've also got more plot ideas than I know what to do with, so, uh, yay for sequels, I guess.

I also identified the theme, and, in what is no surprise to me, or anyone who's paid attention the last half dozen years, it's about belonging or not, being between two worlds and finding your place in it, finding who you are. When I think about it, that's the theme of many of the books I call favorite. Memory, for example. Or most of CJ Cherryh's extensive bibliography. So it makes sense.

I still, however, have NOT gotten any ideas for a title. Poo.
