Ivan doesn't get nearly enough love, IMO. But the next book is about him! Being competent! (And probably getting hitched, which I have Issues with, but I seem to be a minority on that. As much as I love Lois' writing, the "marriage + babies = fulfillment" thing drives me up a tree.)
