Trying to piece together the thread of the new nausea thing. It started Friday or Saturday, with a sort of "ate too much" feeling in the morning. Then Saturday partway through dinner (Indian), I started feeling sick again. I ate 1/4-1/3 of my entree (I usually eat about half) and took the rest home.

I don't remember if I felt sick Sunday morning or not, but I think I did. I ate about half the leftover saag paneer for lunch, then at dinner, I felt very unwell, but we were in Raleigh with my dad, so I had some sushi (rice, veggies, good).

Monday morning was probably the same, but I was focusing more on the sinus pressure and congestion.

Tuesday morning I woke with the nausea, as I mentioned in my post. It resolved after a while. But I wasn't hungry for much all day, and I ate later than usual. I had some more nausea around dinnertime. Dinner was flatbreads and chevre.

Wednesday was a bit worse on all parts. I ate the last of the saag for lunch and had some noisy digestion afterward, then got nauseous just in time to go to tai chi. (Took some chewable pepto.)

Yesterday I took pepto twice: before Pilates and while cooking dinner. On the theory that the nausea is related to stomach acid, I took a pepcid in mid-afternoon (to cover the evening after the Prilosec wore off), but it didn't help. I took a couple extra strength Tums, too. I last took Mucinex yesterday around 8 am, so the effects of that should be long gone.

Today I've been a bit queasy all morning, on and off, though I ate breakfast and am getting hungry. The sinus issues aren't fully resolved, but I don't want to take medicine that increases drainage and makes the nausea worse. Assuming that's still the case; it started before I started the hydrate and flush regimen of doom.

My left maxillary sinus area feels full, but it isn't tender to palpation or percussion. I also feel a bit of pressure on my upper front left teeth. I feel a bit congested on breathing, but I don't sound nasal.

I left a message at my doctor's office this morning, letting them know that the sinuses are better but the nausea is worse, so maybe I need to come in. The nurse has received the message, and she'll be calling me back. I hope she calls soon.

Every year, my mom's family (grandparents, her 3 brothers, their respective wives, and my cousins and their wives/GFs* (and now children, Christ), running around 20-25 people) gets together at Christmas. Traditionally, it's been the Sunday before, but they want to move it to the 26th (Sunday) this year. It'll be difficult for us to arrange catsitting on a holiday weekend (especially Christmas), so despite this being our year to do Xmas with my family, we'll miss the get-together. (I still plan to head north the previous week; my dad's family may be doing something the 17th or 19th.)

*Four of my six cousins (and my 2 step-cousins) are male. Including me and my sister, this generation is 50/50.

So mom wanted to do something at her place this fall, to get people together before the weather turns too cold for a cookout. I'm contemplating driving up for the Rally to Restore Sanity, and Sis offered crash space (and is planning to go), so mom could arrange whatever for that Sunday (which is Halloween, though I think everyone is too old for trick or treating anyway).

In email, I told my sister I'd be willing to play hostess if people wanted to come down here sometime (though I meant more in smaller units than everyone). She said if I wanted to organize a family reunion, I could. Erm. I could look into cabin rentals in the mountains or something, because my yard isn't big enough to cook out for 25 (or even 15). Or house rentals at the beach in winter, because you can only rent houses for a full week during summer. But I have no idea how I'd manage to coordinate it, let alone get in touch with everybody. And it's not like my summer calendar is remotely clear, with the number of cons I'm planning/hoping to attend. (Got to get my networking on.)

But I'm a planning freak, so this is the sort of thing I do to myself. I guess I can ask mom what she thinks. G&G wouldn't come, since they don't travel far anymore.

Either I missed the memo or someone failed to deliver it. I should have called an ENT *already* or something. :P

Got a name & number for a practice in Chapel Hill. Left them a message saying my PCP had referred me to them for sinus issues >3 months, I have Blue Cross, and do you need a referral paper from my PCP? With my number to call me back. That was about 20 minutes ago. It's Friday afternoon, though, so I won't be surprised if I don't hear back until Monday.

I can feel the congestionish stuff in my ears, but I don't want to take Mucinex before going out to dinner tonight. I don't want to be sick for Ben's birthday dinner (& drinks).

I have another prescription for Zofran, though, so I can manage the nausea again once I start the expectorant again, whenever that may be.
