Progress report 11/2

Words I actually wrote today: 1000+. I cut a lot of words - approximately two for every one I wrote.
Total word count: 13825. I broke 14000 several times, then deleted sections that were obsolete or broke continuity.
Once I get past the part where I rewrite everything I'd done up until 2 weeks ago, I'll make steady progress. It's frustrating to keep writing and writing and not have your word count change at all. Yeah, I could close the box that gives me a running tally of words. I use it as a guideline - I have a target of 1000 words per session, so I can see how much further I have to go. But when I keep deleting text, well, that doesn't motivate me nearly as well. And saying "you can go play Tekken when you hit 1000 words" doesn't work, when your bar doesn't hit 1000 after you've written more than that easily.
I've got some great worldbuilding stuff and some plots I look forward to playing with. I just have to get there. That's the hard part right now.
