Revision update

I've gotten to the part of the novel where shit starts happening and I don't need significant structure repairs or continuity fixes. I don't think, anyway.

I definitely need more descriptions, as anthimeria pointed out when she read the draft. I also need more exposition, maybe. Don't know. I need to find about 30,000 words to add. Some will be descriptions, sure, but I many have to add a few more scenes (in addition to the ones I made Scrivener documents for already).

Current word count: 73380.

Isn't it nice when you get to that part? It took me forever with Skywatch, and then I ran into another hitch I hadn't realized was there.

If you're looking for publishable minimum length it might be more like 15-20k words. 80k words is on the short side for a novel like this, but I wouldn't discount it.

Yeah, that's definitely a nice feeling. I know there are some scenes I need to add in the end (I have notes for them and everything), so I'll get a few thousand that way. And I still have to rewrite the beginning, once I figure out how to make it work.

I could probably add some expository scenes with more characterization, though I'll finish the next round of revisions (with the senses added in) and get folks to read it and let me know what needs more explanation.
