I don't even know what structure *means* in this context. Like, I learned the 5-part plot thing in, uh, middle school? (opening, action, climax, denouement; I'm clearly missing something there, since I have 4 words written down), but aside from that, what's structure in a narrative?

It's like, I don't know all these things I feel like I should know, or that would enable me to be more critical or proactive or something when I'm writing, rather than just putting words on paper in order (then going back and filling in where more words need to be.)
