Phone update

I was using my phone on the couch, like you do, reading facebook, and it gave me the 14% beep beep warning. A short time later, it was down to 11% or so (the red "plug in please" light hadn't started blinking, so it was over 10%). Very shortly thereafter it gave another beep beep warning and shut off.

Fuck it, I'm ordering that Moto X tomorrow. This isn't the first time the phone has turned off after going from a charge I ought to be able to get another 10 minutes or more of browsing on.

I've been REALLY happy with the Nexus 6, which is basically a bigger Moto X. The one think I'd miss from the Nexus devices is the wireless Qi charging.

I just got the Nexus 5p, decent phone.

I did look at the Nexus series, but they're all so big. (There's a 5x and 6p...) 5X isn't so bad, though it's smaller than my current phone, and somehow I think that's too small now. (I've tried Ben's iPhone 5, and it feels so tiny.) 6p isn't as big as I remembered it being, but it's still on the large side for my hands. (5.7" screen means it's close to 6" tall...)

yeah, meant the 5x. I don't want a phone that I'd have to use with two hands for ingress.

I really like my Nexus 9 tablet and had been considering a Nexus series phone, but they're so BIG. Like, my soon-to-be-former phone is at the edge of what I consider a good size (HTC One, 5.5" x 2.75"), and the Moto X is slightly larger than that. A friend has one, and I held it a minute, and it wasn't bad.

The thing that makes the One unwieldy is that the power button is on top, so I have to be able to hold the bottom still while pressing the top, and my hands are exactly that big. The X has it on the side, which is easier to deal with. I mean, yes, I have pretty big hands for a woman my size (my fingers are as long as Ben's, and he's 8" taller than me), but it's still awkward to turn my phone on one-handed. Or to type with the thumb of the same hand I'm holding it with.
