The second letter is to the Goethe Institut, so I hope they'd be able to tell me! But honestly, getting a work permit for a 2-week/50-hour practicum really isn't work the effort and fees required. All the health insurance and bank account stuff for two weeks? No, thanks.

I didn't need a student visa when I took a course at the GI, and since I was only there for a month, I didn't need anything more than my passport. So if this counts as a course, I shouldn't need a work permit. I think. But I'm going to ask to make sure.
