Actually Apollon is directed by the guy who did Cowboy Bebop; it's the new Lupin that's directed by the lady who did Michiko and Hatchin. I dunno, it's true that the director doesn't guarantee it'll have an interesting plot, but it does help with things like, for example, being likely to not have terrible pacing, which can go a long way. And if the stuff they've done in the past has had good writing, there's a good chance they'll keep picking people who deliver on that front. *shrug*
Speaking of pacing, Space Brothers needs to pick it up a bit... not sure how much longer I wanna stick with that one either. We'll see.
