I can't wrap my brain around the idea that there are people--people I know, people whose parents aren't named Hilton or Rockefeller or Kennedy--who assume there's an inheritance waiting for them and that such a thing is perfectly normal and to be expected.

Why am I always gobsmacked by blatant displays of privileged ignorance?
