I really need to start my second batch of beer. It's complicated! I am intimidated by making my own recipes but the only way to get better is to try, I guess. This is why I like the 1 gallon batch size; if I fuck up I'm not trying to use up 5 gallons of beer. I added 12oz. of our chocolate maple porter to a pot of chili last night and it started out as a VERY STRONG beer flavor but after I simmered it for 20-30 minutes the flavors mixed more and it turned out really fantastic.
