Naturally, addressing the issue of critical thinking much earlier (like starting in 2nd grade) would be ideal, but given the hostility present-day America (and the GOP) has toward education and paying teachers what they're worth, let alone giving them the ability to, you know, TEACH as opposed to play babysitter for 30 kids, I'm cynical about that ever happening.
