More Livejournal dubiousness

The newest code update includes little links to post your comment to Twitter and/or facebook. Per the third bullet point, this also includes screened and locked comments. Unless your crosspost by default, you need to manually select crossposting, but those little ticky boxes are really easy to hit by accident.

This is not OK from a privacy standpoint. Not at all.

I have 7 Dreamwidth invite codes (free to start a journal). Drop me a comment if you want one.

I've got DW, and I think I'll be doing more with it. I think I still have some invites, and my username is the same.

This is bloody ridiculous.

Eh, the settings that happen if you actually set it to post comments by default do look terrible, but at least that setting is off by default. Honestly, this doesn't look so bad to me compared to previous screw-ups. At least they got everything correctly opt-in this time.

I don't see why I'd ever want to use it for comments, but I actually probably will use it for some posts.

Well, as usual, LJ more-or-less gets it a few weeks late. They're changing it so you can't repost comments on locked/private posts or screened comments.
