Holy shit! The team everyone wrote off after Ballack's injury is in the semifinals! Both of the teams who were favored to take the cup are going home! (Brazil and Argentina.)

I'm sad that I'll be missing their next match (vs the winner of Paraguay vs Spain) because I'm driving to Charlotte. Hopefully I can find the AM Spanish radio station to listen in.

Klose scored 2 goals, and he's now got a career 14 goals in the World Cup, which puts him above Pele and tied for second with another German great, Gerd Müller. He has two matches to tie or surpass Ronaldo (#1, 15 goals). Since Klose's 32, this is probably his last World Cup.

For those of you who don't follow football, I know they have 2 matches left, because if they win Wednesday, they go to the finals, and if they lose, they go to the third place match. So either way, they have two more matches.

For Tuesday's match, I had been neutral, until Suarez' handball that sent Ghana home. So go get 'em, Netherlands! See you in the finals XD

Shoulda been rooting for Germany, would have been less painful. God Argentina was playing terribly. Even my Argentine dad couldn't fault Germany for winning. Though he did joke that Germany was secretly playing with 15 men on the field.

I know, it was weird. Where was the Argentina that struck terror into my heart last week? There were a few moments (and some WTF from Boateng) that made me nervous, and that non-goal in the beginning had my heart pounding (OK, 4 guys all offsides... the ref's gonna notice that, y'all. Even if Tevez got lucky against Mexico.) But after Klose's first goal, it was over.

Mertesacker is the size of two men, so there's 12. Where are the other three? ;)

I have absolutely no idea. Either Jogi's plan was spot-on, or the Elf are finally coming together as a team. (Or Maradona is another example that a good player doesn't always make a good coach.)
