This has been a hard travel year for a lot of people; originally I was planning on seeing my sister in England this summer. Subsequently, I lost my job so I don't know when I'll see her.

I tend to lean on the side of caution when it comes to spending money, so if you have the ability to go study in Germany, I'd vote for going to one of the cheaper schools. That being said, I don't know if you'll really regret not going to the school you want to. So in that instance, I'd vote for either going for it or holding off till you can go to the school you really want to.
